both: from the documentation I knew the firmware download sequence, I
also had the firmware in a firmware.h file. Since it wasn't working I
did some snooping and got the firmware downloaded under windows (which
is different that the one that came in the documentation). The same can
be said of the register initialization sequence.
I have some rough python scripts to decode the windows snoop file, but I
think they're af9005 specific.

Please keep all correspondence on-list. (cc-added) I generally ignore private

[linux-dvb] Need help to configure my dvb remote control...

Author: Alberto Segura
Date: Jan 18, 2007 08:00

Hello everybody,

I am using the dvb driver from linuxtv and I can watch digital tv
perfectly, but I need help to configure the remote control...

The card is a BestBuy Easy TV hybrid pro but the driver recognizes it
as an " em28xx #0: Found Pinnacle Hybrid Pro. em28xx audio device
(eb1a:2881): interface 1, class 1. input: em2880/em2870 remote control
as /class/input/input3"

I have prove xev, but it does not take events pressing remote control
buttons. I also had tried lirc but when I am installing it requires me a
driver to choose and I don't know which one, and maybe my remote is not
supported.

Congratulations for the driver and thanks in advance!

Alberto Segura.

It is the latest version I was able to download.

Hi,

Malvern is a repeater for Sutton Coldfield - but luckily we can
pick a starting frequency that means "scan" finds all 6 MUX's...

if you're interested, the other frequencies are:

T 618000000 8MHZ 2/3 1/2 QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE
T 634000000 8MHZ 3/4 3/4 QAM16 2k 1/32 NONE
T 658000000 8MHZ 3/4 3/4 QAM16 2k 1/32 NONE
T 682000000 8MHZ 2/3 1/2 QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE
T 714000000 8MHZ 3/4 1/2 QAM16 2k 1/32 NONE
T 722166670 8MHZ 3/4 3/4 QAM16 2k 1/32 NONE

  [linux-dvb] LifeView FlyDVB-T using saa7134 - "tuning failed"

Author: David Stevenson
Date: Jan 17, 2007 07:46

Hi all,

I am having problems setting this card which I purchased recently after looking at the supported list for DVB-T hardware. I wondered if anyone here could point me in the direction as I seem to be meandering in the dark, so here goes...

I am using Ubuntu 6.10 with kernel 2.6.17-10-generic, the machine is 32bit and uses a NVidia dual head graphics card (not sure if that last piece is important).

My aerial supply's a signal to a DigiFusion digi box which sits next to the PC (until I get the FlyDVB working) and receives a great signal. Aerial is pointing (visual line of sight) towards uk-Mendip (distance ~15 miles).

My symptoms are simply that using 'scan' - I cannot tune any channels using:

%% scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/uk-Mendip

scanning /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/uk-Mendip
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
initial transponder 754167000 0 2 9 1 0 0 0
>>> tune to: 754167000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_2_3:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE

Done.

Here is my dmesg output:

  [linux-dvb] saa7134-alsa buglet?

Author: Giorgio Moscardi
Date: Jan 17, 2007 04:56

Just noticed something weird when loading saa7134-alsa. From dmesg:

saa7134 ALSA driver for DMA sound loaded
saa7133[0]/alsa: saa7133[0] at 0xfa020000 irq 11 registered as card -1

Why -1? The module works correctly, but -1 would lead me to think it's
failing. Actually the correct device number would be 1 (and still it reports
as -1 even when the device number was 0 or 2):

unholycathedral v4l-dvb # cat /proc/asound/pcm
00-03: emu10k1 : Multichannel Playback : playback 1
00-02: emu10k1 efx : Multichannel Capture/PT Playback : playback 8 : capture 1
00-01: emu10k1 mic : Mic Capture : capture 1
00-00: emu10k1 : ADC Capture/Standard PCM Playback : playback 32 : capture 1
01-00: SAA7134 PCM : SAA7134 PCM : capture 1

Sorry if I'm just wasting your time :).
