GOP Chooses Boehner As Minority Leader

By ANDREW TAYLOR

Friday, November 17, 2006

WASHINGTON -

Cast into the minority by an angry electorate, House Republicans chose
Rep. John Boehner of Ohio on Friday to lead a return to power as
quickly as possible. "We're going to earn our way back into the
majority," he vowed.

Boehner Passed Out Checks from Tobacco PACs to Members on the House
Floor. In 1995, Boehner distributed six checks from tobacco PACs to
members on the House floor. When asked why he did it, a staffer
responded, "The floor is where the members meet with each other."

The reason they are silent is that their mouths are full.

They are eating crow.

On the lighter side I though I might share this with everyone. I'm a huge
college sports fan and today Bo Schembechler died. I was watching the NC
State basketball game and it remimded me of Jimmy Valvano's Espy speech back
in 1993 months before he died of cancer. If anyone is to young to remember or
never seen it it was a great. Jimmy V was one of the greats, he lived and
died with grace and humor. If you wanna watch it, it's the last speech
towards the bottom of the page.
