During WWII my uncle flew with 30 Squadron - Bristol Beaufighters, at one time with "Blackjack Walker". He was awarded the DFC but I have been unable to find any specific information. I did at one time find a very generic citation that said the award was for "action against the enemy" & nothing more. My understand was that he landed his aircraft on a beach to pickup 2 downed airmen...
