...! Does anyone here knows "what to press" to activate this keybinding? (global-set-key [(alt ?3)] (hot-file "~/.emacs")) I don't know what does the '?' means.... It means the character 3 (code 51, #o63, #x33, U+0033) instead of the integer 3. So [(alt ?3)] is the same as [?\A-3]; i.e. hold down the Alt key and press the 3 key.
