Fortran defines a complete ...

.... Working with wood* seems to run in my family, the Shelton branch were English shipbuilders, many are carpenters today, building beautiful cabinets. I even made some lovely wooden salad bowls on a friend's lathe...a most marvelous afternoon passed before i knew it. Wouldn't work with most modern furniture though, coz there's too much use of veneers and not solid wood. Ain't it the truth...sad. *Shutup Ben! -- v

... B reproducer. It was introduced just when the Great Depression hit. Back then, these puppies cost as much as a Packard! The piano is a 5'8" parlor grand with a gorgeous "deluxe" case in mirrored walnut veneer with hand-carved accents. The entire instrument was fully restored in 1988 (including a new pinblock), and refinished. It was in perfect working condition when stored in a climate controlled environment ten years ago, so it should ...

Yeah that was his thing too - he said that there was lots of older wooden furniture that had been painted over when naked wood went out of fashion, and all it needed was stripping back to raw wood and varnishing. Wouldn't work with most modern furniture though, coz there's too much use of veneers and not solid wood. -- Bear 2002 Yamaha R1 Saab Aero Sport

... Largely cosmetic compromises have been made on other difficult questions, such as the formation of joint U.S.-Iraqi commissions to oversee all unilateral U.S. combat and detainee operations and provide a veneer of Iraqi control. Washington has acquiesced to Iraqi refusal to grant immunity to private contractors, an issue that is controversial because of incidents in which American security contractors have killed Iraqi civilians.
