I am running Thunderbird 2.0.0.16. It's my only Usenet tool. I have used previous versions for years without any complaint. Recently the program functions OK on the 16 newsgroups that I have subscribed to but every time I log on it checks for other groups that I have not subscribed to. For example today it will check 143 news groups for new messages and tomorrow it will check 151 news groups without any input from me. I am not ...
