... this, exactly how *real* is any of this crap that goes on in any stock market in the world? Aren't you seeing how very, very real it is - in some cases painfully real - right now? We're seeing how the Fed is using taxpayer money via regressive stagflation to make it as painless as possible for the rich. They'll do _anything_ rather than admit that free speech is a precondition of a free market economy. Bret Cahill

...> Bush-Paulson should done something radical over a year ago. Very true. If they had they wouldn't have had to do what they've done since or in the last few days - and it wouldn't have cost the taxpayers a penny. If you've been bailing out your spendthrift son for years, the radical thing to do is not to give him an unlimited line of credit. Oh, and an unlimited line of credit which is way beyond your means, so...

... reversed course when they realized that the stakes were too high. Now, Paulson is playing same chicken game with the Democrats: Accept our plan or risk Great Depression II. Grant us sweeping authority to have taxpayers buy up worthless assets from banks, have the government hold the securities until financial markets return to normal, and then gradually sell them back and see what the government can recover. But the worst possible ...

..., even when they had the actual power to do so. And unfortunately, the plan they are likely to present to us before the end of the weekend as a fait accompli looks like it will be the biggest theft from the American taxpayer in history. But at the same time, there is no assurance they will not start a full blown World War 3 on top of everything else, even before the next election, to try to swing that election to the new Armageddon Twins...

... of greed that has crept into the banking system to cause such a mess.. I do not think anyone could document fully in specifics. However on a small scale, Enron gave a good glimpse into the basic flaws and with the taxpayer 'bailout' many of the core flaws will just be hidden, renamed and lay in wait to rise again, I am afraid. No, the consumer is not to blame. Some consumers have always been stupid, greedy and unwise but that is ...

... you would consider a living animal, or a dead human as an equal to these toys? Do you have so little respect for them? There are far too many laws, screwing over far too many people in the United States, at taxpayer expense.  While sex with an unconscious person could be considered criminal if they later decided they were violated, the woman in this case may consent if she ever wakes up. "If" may be the ...

... and maize have been outstripped by the vast, oil-driven American farmers, sending even more unwanted intruders northward to extract a living in America. Lots of counties and states bend over backwards to "help" these people while the taxpaying citizens who fall on hard times, in a great part by these low-wage job stealers, are told to "get lost", in more or less those words, many times by Mexican-American state workers who got the ...
