... a minor upgrade. I don't know where that idea came from. My upgrade to vista was around $900 - including new computer with vista preinstalled ($700 + upgrade to office standard). Everything that came on the computer was sufficient for my needs (CD burner software, DVD playback etc.). Oh, I had to buy a new license for antivirus too - mine was expiring soon anyway. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www....

... be paid back, because that depends on the health of the broader economy and the confidence of investors. Paulson's idea of allowing financial institutions to park questionable securities in a government agency may not be sufficient to stem the damage -- unless it is coupled with broader reforms. In return for taking a lot of bad paper off the books of financial institutions, we should demand: Much tougher regulation of all ...

...unanswered. There is no way to explain how the front arms of a reptile could have changed into perfectly functioning wings as a result of a distortion in its genes (mutation). Moreover, just having wings is not sufficient for a land organism to fly. Land-dwelling organisms are devoid of many other structural mechanisms that birds use for flying. For example, the bones of birds are much lighter than those of land-dwelling organisms. Their ...

... you mentioned, 400 MHz (which doesn't exist in Australia), Doesn't exist, eh? But the phones that use it do! That's the important bit that you missed. Who's being precious? is sufficiently distant from 118MHz that the probability of interference is equivalent to...a blue moon...or a logical debate on usenet. I don't see you as having the technical competence to make that determination, judging from ...

.... In the early 1990s (DOS and unix), tech geekers would sneer at graphical menus and mouse, with hordes of reasons how pure text interface, the command line, and or keyboard operations are sufficient and superior than graphical user interface or using a mouse. This seems ridiculous today, but such voices are commonly seen all over newsgroups. (Since the reasons still stand and they are not ridiculous. In argument...

Under a severe threat, he has a ready-made answer in the form of sufficient external justification: "I'm not beating her up because, if I do, that giant over there (my father) is going to spank me, stand me in the corner, and keep me from watching TV for a month."
