... scenario rather than someone's 'witty commentary', 'deconstruction', or 'reimagining,' is an excellent way to approach Wagner. Failing that, and it seems unlikely that rural France will offer many opportunities when London and New York do not, try DVDs. The Syberberg DVD is at least watchable, and the subtitles can be read while watching the action, unlike the titles opera houses now use instead of the audience's language. Good luck.

... singing voice rather than the spoken voice, and the music is literally background music. That's a good point. But that begs the question: what is there to like in these when _listening_ to them? The spoken voice is basically recitative, and it does get boring after a while. (Watching is, of course, different, especially if you understand the text or have subtitles.) ...with many models of Digital TV sets. IÂ’m trying to Keep It Simply Simple (KISS). ;) This is why you see .ts files in those hdtv groups. (This also keeps multiple languages intact, for audio and for Closed-Captions/subtitles.) I don't get a digital stream, except the channels 100+ which have to be converted to analog by the cable box, I assume, for output via the S-Video (the best available on the box). Still, those channels on ...
