... again each demand a name, I have to define locals for each of them which is tedious. Various little things that add up to more verbose code and more chances to make mistakes. But those things aren't show-stoppers, they just slow down the process some. I've been interested in things from other languages that don't come naturally to Forth. I've found regular expressions gave a tremendous amount of power and a tremendous ability to allow ...

... to avoid the overground London Overground service which they then change onto at Harrow, but what about the rest? When LM go wrong and LO have to take over, things get much worse! Â As I said before, the Harrow stoppers are not overcrowded. The more overcrowded services seem to be those that are first stop Watford and then most stops to Milton Keynes. In peak most trains to/from mkc stop at harrow, and are acceptable ...

... aren't as crowded, and dont leave people behind at Euston. While the trains can just about cope when all is well, when there's the slightest problem it all goes to pot. As I said before, the Harrow stoppers are not overcrowded. The more overcrowded services seem to be those that are first stop Watford and then most stops to Milton Keynes. In peak most trains to/from mkc stop at harrow, and are acceptable north of there. When ...

...Queens park and Harrow pick-up-only Northbound (in the peaks) would free up enough space on the services. How would that help, when at least 100 people get on (morning) or off (evening) each trains at Harrow each day and there is no capacity for them on the DC lines. As I said before, the Harrow stoppers are not overcrowded. The more overcrowded services seem to be those that are first stop Watford and then most stops to Milton Keynes.

... found out." So I get a call about the 28th of December and it’s from Trey. He says, "You know, we’ve taken a look at this. We’re not sure we can do it, but right now our engineers are saying they don’t see any show stoppers. It’s going to be tight. This thing is going to reenter the first week in March. I don’t know if we can pull it off, but we’re ready to go to work full time on this if it’s what the country wants to do." That led ...

... some reason this is regarded as less passenger-unfriendly than only opening half the doors, presumably because at the station where the train splits there's the ability to change units if it turns out you are the wrong one. Perhaps one of the options for the Cambridge trains is to run fast to Letchworth then split into 8 & 4 car units. One running fast to Cambridge and the other becoming an all station stopper. -- Roland Perry

... output, are possibly un-needed 'bells and whistles. Of course, if you can't live without some 'system feedback' while things startup, then they do become needed, but thats a 'customer' decision, not a 'show stopper'. If your OS is going to have any chance of catching on in the mass market it has to support the bells and whistles available on modern machines. Currently I have 37 processes running on this machine, not...
