...;-) Even better that it was a weekday. Actually the coincidental thing about this Stinson/Warrior incident is that on the Friday before last when it happened we had... the day. There was myself in a Tomahawk and a friend in his Stinson, which looks virtually identical to the one that got landed on. We had ... had seen the incident on TV and they wanted to know had the Stinson made it back OK and was everyone OK. I'd already cancelled my ...

I'm still amazed at how the blade has sheared off at 1/3rd of it's length on the Stinson. <http://www.vansairforce.net/safety/52F/IMG_3052.jpg> Don H The flying it bit was of course tongue in cheek. I am amazed that the damage was not catastrophic. I am sure you are right about the damage being much ...

There's two pretty massive prop strikes involved and possibly some cylinder /crankcase damage on the Lyc in the Piper judging by the prop & cowling damage on both. I'm still amazed at how the blade has sheared off at 1/3rd of it's length on the Stinson. <http://www.vansairforce.net/safety/52F/IMG_3052.jpg> Don H

...Musketeer, It looks like a Warrior II to me. But more tough is the Stinson underneath: http://www.vansairforce.net/ Even the right oleo on the Stinson doesn't look much more compressed than it would in a heavy landing. ...open and look around outside the cockpit. But more tough is the Stinson underneath: http://www.vansairforce.net/ Even the right oleo on the Stinson doesn't look much more compressed than it would in a heavy landing. Not bad for a 60 year old aircraft. Keep your eyes open and look around outside the cockpit. Don H (Helping rebuild a Stinson).

... perspective. Dammned if I can figure what it is, tho' Coop Maybe an early Stinson? (Model W, or Junior) Coop dont think a stinson. the giveaway was the strut arrangement down to the undercarriage. that strut arrangement is definately the fairchild way of doing things. the stinson is quite different in the undercart. it could also be a 'fokker universal'. that ...

...appears to have horn balance- and there appear to be more windows than the Argus had, and the engine heads stick out from the side of the forward fuselage without cowling. Most Argus piccies show cowling and engine heads in line with the rest of the fuse. And it seems larger than the Argus, although that could be the perspective.
