The flavor is certainly stronger and richer (more brothy in texture, not sweet in taste but not too much seaweed either, it's vegetal but not in the same way as a Chinese green might be..it's more mossy or something). Anyhow. Is this an example of what I should look for in a higher quality sencha? Thanks in advance. ...

...hot side. They describe it as "a natural toasty sweetness and an earthy, biscuity fragrance." Not sure that's quite how I'd put it - it's deliciously rich without being strong. The taste is more herbal and almost "vegetable broth" with prominent umame rather than strongly caffeine or tea-like. Unlike Japanese senchas it doesn't have the seaweed or cabbage notes. -- Cats have nine lives, which is why they rarely post to Usenet.
