...can't think of any role that he played straight. I think you'd end up with a situation like Bill Murray in "The Razor's Edge" or Adam Sandler in "Punch-Drunk Love". Audiences have certain expectations from big stars and the box-office would suck when Brendan Fraser fans let everyone know that Doc Savage is nothing like the Mummy movies....
