...1963, but I've (almost) never written a program for someone else to use, and have never been paid a cent for a program. Last year I turned 70 and published my last paper that depended on fortran calculations. I doubt that I am representative of the participants in this newsgroup, who mostly seem to be closer to "programmer" than to "user."...
