The link for "Big Island" on the Coffee Association still goes to a page named "kona.html" - even if that page makes mention of Hamakua, Kau and Puna coffee now. A price difference between $11/lb and $13/lb could be attributed to volume discount ... For all I know they grow their own coffee. ...

... i.e. KCFA. Then and only then does it indicate a paper trail back to the farm from where the coffee came form. It has to only come from that farm. Here in Sharkey's definition, it means nothing. Estate House Roast means nothing except the coffee is roasted.. ... it from the grower, we probably could have gotten an even lower price. The demand for Kona coffee is much higher now. That is probably the more germane reason. At these high rates, I really don't feel the pleasure of Kona coffee is worth it. I'm satisfied with other brands and blends. There seems to be now a point of buyer resistance. Kona coffee to drink seems to be bought only at exclusive restaurants today.
