... be done about people who text while driving, considering that it's already illegal? Since texting while driving puts lives in danger it has everything to do with killer motorists. The penalties for texting while driving are ludicrously light, as are most penalties for dangerous motorists. Presumably you don't consider that deliberately putting lives at risk on our roads is at all serious? Read that case yet, Gollum?

... is no problem with PT late at night, in other areas there aint no PT at night. Or in the day, in many places... But that - as we keep being reminded - is purely down to The Evil Car. Nothing to do with economic reality, oh, no. The Evil Car continues to be allowed to exist in massive quantities, and their drivers are allowed to kill with relative impunity, Read that case yet Gollum, you clueless old cunt?

...> Do you need any more proof that large profits are to be made from greenwash, i.e. pretending to combat climate change? I don't see anything transport repated here. Off Topic. Go away. I seem to remember that not all that long ago motorists on this transport newsgroup were quite keen on carbon trading/offsetting/ neutral/footprint/blahblah as a means of trying to excuse their pollution. Lying again, Gollum?

... all the bilge you started yesterday, including responding to the feedback to your own point of 'something should be done about texting while driving'? You seem to have gone all quiet when it was pointed out that something has been done. You are quite wrong as usual. I pointed out that punishments for killer motorists are far too lenient so something is not being done. Read that case yet, Gollum, you clueless old cunt?

...motorists leave their nasty polluting engines running. Did you used to switch your Land Rover off when idling, Gollum? Is that the same Land Rover that was switched off and left in the Sahara Desert ? ...old turd no longer wanted it. Speaking of deserts, however, did you leave the 2 stroke engine running, Gollum, when you were idling in Morocco? 2-smoke engines are polluting whatever they're doing. That's why they'...

... one you fuckwittedly thought was concerned only with corporate manslaughter. You really made an arse of yourself there, didn't you?). Don't move the goalposts. Penalties for killer drivers are much too light and they should never be allowed to drive again. Erm, it's you who has moved the goalposts, not me. You said "Why can't something be done", and I replied that something has been done. Read that case yet, Gollum?

... of road building in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. That just happens to be when Gollum was driving round in his Land Rover. I wonder whether Gollum complained about "perpetual roadbuilding" back then? Also, as anyone with even quarter of a brain ... dried up in the 90s and has been at a low level since. How odd that Gollum should be complaining about a non-existent phenomenon now ...

...many years, in an attempt to decrease congestion, this has largely failed and congestion is as bad as ever due to the above mentioned feedback loop. The only way to reduce congestion is to reduce the number of vehicles, mainly cars, on our roads. Did you complain about "perpetual roadbuilding" when you were driving round in your Land Rover, Gollum? Or is this just another example of your hypocrisy, you hypocritical old turd?

... should be cutting something you think has no effect, because to do so will have an effect. You really haven't thought this one through, have you Gollum? and sends a clear message to all motorists, "Keep on polluting regardless!" I see no mention of motorists in the article. It is only you with your fixation on something you are no longer able to do who thinks it is about motorists, Gollum.
