... is script blocking. With script blocking, there's no reason to run anti-virus programs for Web surfing. Also, if one uses linux text clients for Mail and News as ghod intended, there won't be any virus danger either. I would also suggest that web users check out www.OpenDNS.org to put some control back into what comes into your computer via your web browser.

...But the main thing that will prevent you from downloading malicious files from Web sites is script blocking. With script blocking, there's no reason to run anti-virus programs for Web surfing.
