Just got back from the Mexican Riviera (PV, Mazatlan, Cabo) on Princess. It was fantastic - service was exceptional (one isolated incident notwithstanding - we never went back to her table), Anytime dining is a great option. I sang in Heat #2 of the Princess Popstar contest (sort of a Princess Idol karaoke) and sucked, but the audience was very supportive and the ass't cruise director host

If you're just looking for a beach (no amenities, just a beach) within walking distance, I can think of two. The water is maybe a little cooler than the Caribbean beaches, but, on a warm day that is refreshing. It is very comfortable once you're in the water, and, depending on the wind, the waves can be calm or very active. 1. Cabo San Lucas...From the tender pier, walk through the flea

Hi Max, I read the responses from a few others, all seemingly offering some good advice. I also agree with some in their assessment that the beaches on the West Coast are just not the same caliber as those you will find in the Caribbean. Not to knock the West Coast beaches, for I actually live across the street from the ocean in California myself, and while nice to look at, I seldom swim

Thank you for warning me! I had no idea. It is my first vacation on the West Coast. I'm a Caribbean cruiser and East Coast vacationer. But why do you say that it's not a good region for beaches? Is the water too cold? Are the beaches to small? Are the waves too big? As a base for comparison, I'm used to East Coast (summertime) swimming, from Virginia to Miami. Regards, Max On

Wow! Thanks EF, That is precisely what I needed to know. The general tip on beach access in Mexico is very appreciated. And as far as shore excursions go, I always find it more rewarding to research on my own. Moreover, when you know where you're going, you don't have to stand in line to take the bus with the rest of the group and loose precious time on such short time ashore. Cheers

Hello, I will be embarking on the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas for a Mexican Riviera cruise in mid january. Ports of call will be Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We will be four adults (late 20s and early 60s) searching for nice beaches. We generally prefer sandy beaches to rocky reefs. What could you recommend? And for each of them, should we get there by foot, by

Hi Mark, first of all let me tell I am very sorry that you lost your trip, I would be very burned for losing $140 if I where in your position too. Second, I disclose I am an employee of VallartaOnline, however, this is not an official response, just someone who is concerned by what is being published here. I was not aware of your case since I do not work with the reservations staff, I'm on
