...only to find out that on the pther side they had a ramp for wheelchairs - but they forgot to announce it, or put out a sign about it - I didn't want her to be left out seeing the sights.. But all in all we had a great time. Apart from the beer from the advert I posted a link to before going there: that beer is pure sh*te - eeky sweet stuff - not fit for consumption IMHO.. -- Josef

Mick the Merciless schrieb: You are, of course, totally correct. Not having played with live cds before past "that's nice, I'll install it" I assumed that the sttings were saved. My mistake. No problem, Mick. And you are welcome for sure. I for one am, and have always been very happy to try out alternatives as I assume you are, too. :-D -- Josef

Mick the Merciless schrieb: Live CDs build a virtual space on the hard drive so that added programmes can be put somewhere. They can, but you have to explicitely allow that function. The "normal" Live CD will only work with a 'virtual disk' in your RAM and forget all changes after the system has been shut down. Well - all those I have ever had worked that way.. -- Josef

Mick the Merciless schrieb: Do tell how you got the Packman repo to work though. Everything that I entered resulted in it just sitting there or, in one case, an error message. I think for that to get it working would require a 'propper' installation so that the added repositories, and files can be included in the system. Which doesn't work with a CD.. :-D -- Josef

... of a trial. Sorry Mick - I am not familiar with the Live CD version of 11 - I have installed it from the downloadable DVD image, and after updating the CODECs from the Packman repository everything works just fine for me. Apart from the fact that the starter line along with thw time in it etc. cannot be "paused" until touched by the mouse again as it worked with 10.3.. -- Josef
