We're talking at utter cross-purposes here and I don't think I'm helping you. I'm not asking if the art is embedded: WMP doesn't do that by default in this situation. WMP does/will update the ID3, I believe with PRIV tags if I recall correctly. If Mp3Tag is resetting that, the association would be lost due to Mp3tag's bad compatibility. So -- I kind of feel you're not looking at this

That shouldn't be a "judge" - does it update the tags when you add art via Find Album Info and use Apply Media Information? Until you use AMI, changes may still be outstanding. That's generally correct: if "random.jpg" is in a folder, how would you *want* to guess that it's associated to the file? That turns out to be a bad, ineffective, and limited guessing game. Especially with people
