Hi, I've just been reading a short story by Erskine Caldwell and stumbled across the following sentence: "There were only a hundred and fifty or seventy-five there today." (he's talking about people there) Here's my question: Does "a hundred and fifty or seventy-five" have any special idiomatic meaning? The phrase doesn't seem to be random, so I'm just wondering.
