| Hi Professor Cowan,
|
| In the lecture notes for lecture 17, there's a link to a pdf for an
| example of modelling, and when I click it says forbidden, don't have
| access ...
|
| Thanks,
| Victor
|
There was a permission error so that I could see it and your couldn't. It
should be okay now.
Bill
P.S. Does this mean that nobody else ever looked at it?

To whom it may concern,
I'm pretty disappointed to read today on the other course's web page:
***** Tutorial *****
* Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, MC 4061
*Why wasn't this announced on the newsgroup and/or in class (Cowan)?*
The whole system with two webpages that don't show the same content is
pretty annoying and now I even missed the tutorial because of it.
Dietmar

Hi, I was wondering if any formula sheet (such as the one provided for the
midterm) will be provided for the final exam?
Thanks

The problem states that it is a 2 stage tandem queue system.
Do I assume that on completion of jobs at server 1, that the job goes to
server 2 queue, or that the job leaves the system?
Also for completion of jobs at server 2, the job leaves the system or goes
to the queue for server 1?
Thanks,
Victor

When determining E[r], which equation do we use?
a) E[r] = E[n]/(lambda prime) or
b) E[r] = N/X - Z
Thanks,
Alex

Hello,
Do we need to assume that the arrival rates and service times are
exponentially distributed and use the Product Form solution on this
question?
Thank you.

Hello,
Are we expected to plug in the expression for P0 into Pn to simplify?
Thank you

I'm a little confused about how to get the lower bound for this model..
Can you give me some hint?
Thank you...

I have a question about how to schedule the start_service event. In the
assignment, it says:
"if x ≤ Q, the job will receive x seconds of service and then depart
from the system; the quantum is terminated after the x seconds of service"
So do we begin processing the next quantum immediately (by scheduling a
new start_service event at the current time)? Or do we schedule the
start_service event using the remainder of time left in the quantum
(Q-x, so that each start_service event is Q seconds apart).
Thanks,
David
