Tech Check Skills Required:
Senior IT resource that is versed in a broad range of
technologies (i.e. OS/390, AIX, Sun, W2K, NetWare, Data Networking,
etc.) and application architectures (i.e. Web, Two / Three Tier Client
Server, Mainframe)
Experienced with the enterprise design of recovery
environments to support off-site recovery of critical technology
environments for large organizations (i.e., data replication, DR WAN
design, co-located equipment, etc.)
Experienced with MS Project to develop / modify tasks and
durations within the project schedule being executed
Strong understanding the organizational structure of a
large IT and the general responsibilities that each functional group
holds ; Possesses a good understanding of technologies used in all
aspects of a large IT organization ; Strong ability to facilitate a
working session with multiple technical SMEs to obtain specific
objectives ; Strong ability to resolve conflicts and adapt
communication style to fit the audience ; Strong ability to organize
and track work in progress ; Possesses excellent verbal and written
communication skills ; Experienced working within Fortune 100 size
clients (i.e. organization awareness and navigation)
Assignment Description / Responsibilities:
Technical Subject Matter Expert / Project Manager who can interact
with ITG Subject Matter Experts, ITG DR Coordinators, ITG Managers and
various other senior level resources supporting critical applications
and/or business functions for the purpose of developing technology
recovery solutions that support the captured business and technical
recovery requirements in full alignment with ITG s strategic
direction. The SME/PM will be responsible for developing the approach
and corresponding work schedule for completing an assessment of the
critical technologies that reside within various headquarter and field
service unit (FSU) facilities so that appropriate plans can be created
to successfully recover the critical technology in alignment with the
current Business Continuity Plans. The SME/PM will be responsible for
defining the project deliverables and managing the day-to-day
activities of the project team in the creation of the deliverables
along with providing subject matter expertise to the key stakeholders
and other DR Team members.
Leads solution development activities with the ITG SMEs,
ITG Finance personnel and DR Vendor team to identify the best
alternative(s) for fulfilling the captured recovery requirements in
alignment with ITG s strategic direction
Maintains project information in alignment with ITG
Solutions Development Methodology standards
Assists with updating the DR documentation as approved
recovery solutions are architected and implemented
Analyzes the captured recovery information for validity and
identifies inconsistencies that require further investigation
As required, gathers additional technical information about
an application s architecture and supporting infrastructure from a
wide variety of identified technical contacts in a large, highly
specialized IT organization
Updates the Disaster Recovery Data Repository, associated
DR inventory documentation and technical design drawings with
additional information captured from technical contacts
Business Justification:
Act as Subject Matter Expert / Project Manager to lead the
initiative under the guidance of the DR Management team and DR SME /
PM colleagues who are driving parallel initiatives to enhance the DR
Program
Lead the development of recovery solutions to address
technical infrastructure gaps between the Production environment and
the recovery environment. Recommend recovery solutions to mitigate
system downtime while supporting ITG s long-term strategy.
Build consensus with the ITG SMEs to support the
recommended recovery solutions, develop approaches and associated work
schedules to drive the rapid implementation of the agreed upon
solutions
Major Accountabilities:
Lead DR Analysis BIA Project
Maintain BIA project information, providing status and
reporting as required by DR Program Office and key stakeholders
Facilitate the completion of the technical assessment and
the development of recovery solutions that support the documented
recovery requirements; capture additional requirements information as
needed to finalize technical recovery solutions
