Description: Business Title Animal Tech Requisition ID 10785BR Job Category Technician - Animal Care Locations USA - Denver, PA Shift 1 Job Description Animal Technician - Entry Full time. Temp to Hire position now open in Denver, PA In this role you will be responsible for care of animals in the barrier operation that produces rabbits. This will include animal care, feeding, cleaning - basic husbandry, production and selection for customer orders, building maintenance, etc. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, shower into barrier facility and work rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Feed animals on a daily basis Rabbit production: breed, identify and retain breeder candidates, check nest boxes, palpate, hang nest boxes, push in nest boxes, take down nest boxes, foster, wean, and bleed, dip plastics. Maintain animal stock: feed, wash cages, dump pans or tubs, check automatic watering, identify health issues, consolidate, dip plastics. Set up orders by age or weight for all shipments. Identify and confirm client requirements. Select and pack animals to meet delivery schedules. Be aware of compliance issues and report as needed. Conduct head count of animals to determine availability of salable animals. Do laundry to maintain personal hygiene. Monitor all traffic and material entering the building. Package, prepare sterilize and inventory gnotobiotic supplies. Stock supplies for building. Complete necessary paperwork (stock/production) Responsible for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages or tubs, and support areas HS Diploma AALAS Certification or eligibility a plus Working Conditions: Must be available to work weekends/ holidays on a rotating basis Required to stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting and lifting
