Job Description Siemens PTI is seeking an accomplished business development executive with experience in software solutions, professional consulting services, and educational services. This individual must have experience in the electrical transmission and generation industry and must be an accomplished user of PSS/E and experienced in PSS/ODMS, with the ability to deal directly with clients worldwide. They will be expected to be trained on the wide breadth of Siemens PTI software and will be responsible for demonstrating Siemens PTI software to a world-wide audience. This is a self-starter, self-motivated position requiring domestic and international travel (outside of North America) approximately one-third of the year. Relocation not required. Job responsibilities will include cooperation with the Siemens PTI Business Development group to develop sales strategies, plans and budgets, and to concentrate on product positioning in the world-wide market. This individual will also be responsible for the proactive management of sales, meeting set sales targets, and interacting directly with senior management and consultants in Siemens PTI. The job requires a high level of critical thinking in conducting and concluding successful negotiations in a myriad of cultures. This individual will represent the company by being the primary customer contact during the sales cycle, as well as interacting directly with world-wide sales channels including working with agents, Siemens representatives, and Siemens international offices. The position reports to the Manager of Business Development for Siemens PTI. The successful candidate should, at a minimum, possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical System Power Engineering or a related field, with sound knowledge of power system simulation software (PSS/E and PSS/ODMS) and familiarization with commercial terms. Experience managing representatives and value added resellers would be advantageous.
