My client a Connecticut based Medical Education Company is actively seeking an industry experienced Medical Editor with previous medical education, medical communications, or medical publishing experience. This position will be responsible for managing the creation of CE (Continuing Education) initiatives for industry professionals. Qualified applicants will have previous experience working with medical faculty as well as assisting in the research and content development for preparation of materials (manuscripts, abstracts, slide kits, needs assessments, online programs, etc).
Position Duties:
Strong Editorial project management experience in various media – live, interactive, and print
In a team collaboration (editors, writers, and faculty) assist in development of medical education content for live symposia, Web courses, monographs, and interactive programs
Identify, recruit, and coordinate scheduling of faculty
Edit manuscripts & slides for accuracy and integrity
Work with faculty, program management and creative departments regarding content & design
Proficient in AMA Writing style
Ensuring correct grammar, spelling, usage, and adherence to AMA, agency, and client styles
Manage slide kits, manuscripts, CD-ROMs
Perform online research as necessary
Order references and manage reference database
Streamline process and procedure
Candidates must have the following:
· 2 (two) or more years of experience in medical editing &/or content editing for a medical education, medical communications, or medical publishing company
· Proficient in PowerPoint
· Solid understanding of production process
· Experience in CME a plus
· Must have industry experience to be considered
· BA or BS Degree required in English, Journalism or related field
· Advanced degree a plus (MS, PhD, PharmD, MD) not required
· Experience and understanding of medical terminology.
· Knowledge and experience with AMA Style
· Strong project management skills.
· Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Self motivated.
· Excellent Communication skills written and verbal.
· Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
· Work is
on site only
, and is full time permanent. Must be able to work in house daily
