Job Description
I. Position Summary
The Citrix Administrator/Senior Server Analyst installs, maintains,
monitor, and resolves problems with Windows 2000/2003 and Citrix
servers in a multi-farm Citrix environment. This position will be in
Fishers, IN and the work schedule will be from 11AM to 8PM (ET). The
Administrator installs Windows Operating systems, Metaframe,
configures hardware and network components and resolves problems with
servers, databases and associated peripheral devices that comprise the
UMG server environment. The Administrator works within the established
processes and procedures to ensure maximum system availability and
reliability to the client community and participates actively in
application deployment planning, availably management, environmental
planning, change management, problem management, and disaster recovery
functions.
Reporting relationship: Reports to the NA GDS-Server Services
Director.
Additional Duties: Backs up other NA GDS Server Team functions as
assigned by the NA GDS-SS Director and Server Technical Lead. Closely
align with the developer and DBA groups within UMGIT. Participate in
the design and engineering of infrastructure improvements. Handle
other NA GDS server functions as assigned by the NA GDS-SS Director
and Server Technical Lead.
II. Responsibilities
* Builds Terminal servers, installs Citrix Metaframe/Presentation
Server and tests servers based on requirements from Design and
Architecture or established standards.
* Builds, installs and tests Windows 2000/2003 servers based on
requirements from Design and Architecture or established standards.
* Maintain Citrix Presentation Server 4, MetaFrame XPe and MetaFrame
1.8 Farms
* Loads operating system, network operating system, applications and
middleware.
* Monitors system performance and takes proactive action when pre-
defined thresholds are exceeded.
* Configuration, maintenance, monitoring, trouble-shooting and tuning
of Citrix and other Windows systems using various software tools and
takes proactive action when needed
* Provide out of hours technical support, both onsite and remote as
needed, in support of continuous server operations and business
application availability.
* Adhere to the company IT standards, policies, procedures and
internal audit guidelines
* Handle Remedy tickets for trouble requests and critical issues
* Handle security and patch management
* Perform troubleshooting and problem isolation.
* Documents and updates documentation per Server Team processes and
participates in Change Management and other ongoing management
functions.
* Teams with other UMG-IT personnel to provide the highest level of
availability and support to UMG clients.
III. Minimum Skills Requirements
* Two years experience as a Citrix Administrator in a multi-farm
environment with strong hands on experience supporting/implementing
Citrix/Terminal Services technologies
* Experience with Citrix Web Interface and Citrix Secure Gateway
* Experience publishing applications and setting up load balancing
within Citrix farm
* Minimum of 3+ years advanced system administration experience
working in a complex Windows environment.
* Senior level experience with Compaq/HP server hardware/software and
server lines.
* Strong knowledge of patch management and performance tools
* Excellent internal and external customer relation skills and
customer oriented behavior.
* Clear, concise, written communications that are action oriented.
* The ability to follow department procedures, processes, and
documentation requirements without supervision.
* Strong team player and ability to work to collective goals Time
management and organizational effectiveness.
* Professional attitude and appearance that others can emulate.
IV. Education
* One or more technical certifications required (CCEA, CCA, MCSE, MCP)
* Computer Science AA or equivalent experience required, BS desired.
