From today's Dail Wail:

"Police are investigating an attack by animal rights extremists on an
elderly man's house. Doug Bollen, 76, of Catford, was woken at 2 am
by the sound of breaking glass, and upon investigating discovered that
all his ground floor windows had been smashed with bricks. Amongst
the bricks and broken glass was a handwritten note saying "Stop
killing the mice, rodent murderer, or next time it will be petrol
bombs".

The note was signed "Catford Rodent Protection League", and the
following message has been posted to a website associated with the
CRPL:

"Doug Bollen has boasted on the uk.transport newsgroup about his mouse
murdering activities. This attack is a warning to him - next time we
will not use non-violent means to get out message across. We regard
blackmailing animal murderers to stop what they are doing, where the
government has miserably failed to do so, as both legal and ethical in
common law."

Posters to uk.transport were asked for their views, but the only
comment received was:
