As anyone with half a brain knows, there was a high level of road
building in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. That just happens to be when
Gollum was driving round in his Land Rover. I wonder whether Gollum
complained about "perpetual roadbuilding" back then?
Also, as anyone with even quarter of a brain knows, road building
dried up in the 90s and has been at a low level since. How odd that
Gollum should be complaining about a non-existent phenomenon now ...
