Why bother replying to his posts? He's just a deluded, bitter but
otherwise fairly harmless old duffer who obviously has little else to
do with his life other than to endlessly post on here. So why let him
work you up into a lather? Just ignore him and eventually he'll get
bored and go find another sandpit to play in.

Umm, to be fair, you're far more likely to meet my killfile than Duhg.

1. He's too easy a target, as it's so simple to pick holes in his
"arguments"
2. Group mentality. It would need _everyone_ to agree for it to work. But
since newsgroups are, by their nature, made up of a diverse group of people
who don't even know each other, let alone can all agree to something, it
only takes one or two to break the "no reply" rule for it to break down.

I would love to have my news posts uncontested and free from the usual
personal insults, and occasional death threats, from the motorists who
dominate this transport newsgroup. Please, please, do not respond.

In which case, what would be the point of you posting?

I don't let him wind me up. I find his posts hugely amusing, and
derive entertainment from picking holes in his feeble logic and
arguments. His occasional forays into science and maths are
particularly entertaining.

Duhg sees usenet as a 'post only' medium. Its not about debate, its
about Lugless telling us all what we should do.
