This is what happens to animal rights protesters. The motorists who
dominate and infest this transport newsgroup will love this and will
gloat. They especially hate ARAs.
"Following a lengthy police investigation and an 18-week trial costing
over £4.5 million, the operator of a website criticising animal
testing company Sequani, has been jailed for four and a half years for
organising a legal protest.
In an unprecedented case, the press were barred from reporting the
trial, witnesses were bussed into the court and mobile phones were
even confiscated from the public before they entered the gallery and
the jury. The atmosphere was more akin to a terrorist trial than one
relating to non-violent protest, which made the charges appear far
more sinister than they in fact were. The choice of judge was also
considered highly questionable considering he is a keen hunter.

Have you thought about posting this crap to a more appropriate group
e.g.alt.animal.rights or alt.dev.null
btw. you don't get found guilty of an "alleged" crime.

What has this got to do with UK transport?

Splendid stuff. Now, if only the cops would arrest a certain, highly
obnxious individual called Doug Bollen, the job would be finished.

Couldn't you find any nice juicy stories to post about children getting run
over by cars, or whatever else it is that turns you on, that you had to post
something entirely irrelevant to a transport newsgoup?

Are you blind? Can't you see the word 'motorists' in the thread title?
There has been much debate on this NG about the light or zero
sentencing of motorist killers compared to other sorts of killers and
this thread is highly relevant to that discussion. Note that the
sentence given to Sean Kirtley is more than that given to many killers
even though he has physically harmed no one. These distorted laws not
only reflect on serious transport issues but also the sort of regime
we are living under. Not that you care, obviously.

Oh, well, that's OK then - cut'n'paste an irrelevant article but shove a
random relevant word in the title...

Yes, but what has that got to do with you posting a thread that has
nothing to do with transport?
