Why did you do that? You got it right first time and then hopelessly wrong
the second time - in the same sentence!
A. "...tend to be treated lightly" - whether factually correct or not, that
is the correct syntax.
B. "... are treated even lighter" - wrong (it should be: "are treated even
more lightly").
It isn't you who created some of those Highways Agency gantry signs, was it?
You know the one of which I'm thinking:
"Don't Drive Tired".
