As the motorists who dominate this transport newsgroup all seem to be
meat eaters and frequently criticise veganism here I thought these
facts might be of interest to them, especially as it relates to their
contribution to the destruction of the plane, world starvation and
biofuels.
"Inefficiency of Meat
Animals use the energy they gain from food to move around, breathe,
grow, keep warm and perform all their bodily functions - just as we
do. Only six per cent of their energy intake ends up being stored in
flesh or milk. For every 16 pounds of high-protein food fed to cattle,
only one pound of meat results. In terms of food energy, it takes 24
calories in the form of grain or soya to produce a single calorie of
beef (34). In fact, the more a cow is milked, the more grain
concentrate she needs (35).

Has anybody caught a pig to work this month?
How many of you have ridden your ox to the pub?
Did you get into a sheep for an outing with the kids?
Thought not, so what has this got to do with UK Transport?

Gosh, now there's a surprise. A vegan website promotes veganism.

Does it support Dougs controversial "put human poop on yer veggies"
idea?
