Text driving 'worse than drink'.

Frightful! Why can't something be done about all these potential
killers?

"Texting while driving impairs motorists more than being under the
influence of drink or drugs, research suggests.

The RAC Foundation found average reaction times slowed by 35%% when 17
to 24-year-olds drove in a simulator while writing or reading texts.

Nearly 50%% of drivers aged between 18 and 24 texted while driving, it
said.

Previous studies had found reactions were 21%% slower among those who
had taken cannabis and 12%% slower among those who had drunk to the
legal limit..."

Something has been done: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/Acts/acts2006/ukpga_20060049_en_3#pb7-l1g20

Oh, and don't bother replying with your usual "why don't they get
charged with manslaughter" crap until you have read and understood
that case (Adomako) that I referred you to (you know, the one you
fuckwittedly thought was concerned only with corporate manslaughter.
You really made an arse of yourself there, didn't you?).

Do you suppose there is one single driver, that wouldn't dream of attempting
to text while driving, that disagrees with you?

What, somewhere other than the Daily Mail, for a change?

Don't move the goalposts. Penalties for killer drivers are much too
light and they should never be allowed to drive again.

It is fuckwit, that's why it's illegal

Well, up to a point. This appears to have only tested people who have had up
to the legal limit. I would be interested how it compares to someone who's
had 6 pints

They should put them in a real car, on a private track to get a better
comparison.

Tell us something we don't know. Hell, I would admit to using a phone
occasionally while driving in the past. Not texting though. I hate texting
anyway.
