Terrorism or not terrorism?

Author: Brian Whitehead

Given the amount of discussion on this subject, I thought I would
create a little quiz to test out peoples' opinions on what is and
isn't terrorism. Just reply and say "terrorism" or "not terrorism" to
each scenario. You can give your reasons if you wish.

1. An Irish Republican plants a bomb in a crowded shopping centre,
which explodes, killing 10 people.

2. A group of elderly ladies in a knitting club write to a noisy
neighbour threatening to report him to the local authority if he
doesn't keep the noise down.

3. A football hooligan fatally injures a member of an opposing team,
for wearing the wrong colour of scarf.

4. An animal rights supporter firebombs a childrens' nursery, because
a caretaker at a local animal testing lab sends his children there.

5. A group of masked protestors repeatedly breaks into an office of a
building company that was involved in the construction of the
aforesaid lab, and runs around threatening violence against the
occupants.

6. A motorist, in a hurry to get home, drives too closely to the
person in front.

Difficult, Doug supports the IRA, so it won't be terrorism. However
Doug does supports shopping centres, so it could be terrorism

Doug does not like women of the opposite sex, so this is definitely
terrorism. However I bet it would annoy Doug living next door to a
noisy neighbour, so if it was Doug complaining it would not be
terrorism.

Are you really sure that Dug is not "the opposite sex"?
