The Tag Heuer Monaco is one the most unique looking watches in the entire
Tag Heuer line of fine timepieces. It is hard to mistake this watch for an
every day sport watch. The oversized square case shape has rounded side that
offset the bold design of this watch. A design that was inspired by one of
the most famous race car movies ever made, Corum Bubble Mini Watches, "Le
Mans" starring Steve McQueen. He wore the watch in the movie and guaranteed
its fame amongst race car and Steve McQueen fans.
The Monaco is mid sized sports watch measuring 38 mm in diameter. The screw
down crown is off set by the two chrono pushers set at sloping angles above
and below. The dial on the Monaco is easy to read thanks to the oversized
seconds and minutes sub dials set at three and nine o'clock respectively.
These subdials are easy to read due to their square design with rounded
corners. The Chrono hour sub dial is set at six o'clock. If you want a dial
that is even easier to read, then choose the version with the blue dial and
strap. This version does not have an hour subdial which makes it even easier
to read.
Tag Heuer manufactures several different versions of the Monaco. There is an
all steel version with a blue, Wenger Watches, Emporio Armani Watches, white
or black dial. The yellow gold version comes with either a black or brown
leather strap, Other Michele Watches, both with a white dial. Tag now offers
an all steel version with either a black or a blue dial. If you plan on
wearing the Monaco as a serious sport watch you may want to consider the all
steel version. The Monaco is only available in an automatic version, and is
water resistant to 30 meters.
