At least, that's what Shell want the Sheeple to believe.
Do you think Shell are winning the spin war? I suspect they are. They have
much a better PR operation than the striking drivers, who tended to come
across as ordinary and quietly-spoken working-class people who don't have a
massive PR operation behind them, just something they are unhappy about and
want to explain..

I predicted this would happen a while back. The drivers PR was at
best an afterthought and they've been painted into a corner by Shell
and the media.
Mind you they don't overly need the public support to keep doing what
they are doing so possibly a moot point.

Well I know that the price of oil hasn't changed to any noticable amount in
the last 2 days , but some of the local garages have put diesel up by 4p a
litre because they think they can get away with it. When asked they said it
was due to panic buying

Trying to be objective about it, Shell have the negative of being "the
big rich company" in most people's minds, and no amount of PR can
overcome that. Also Shell isn't the driver's employer no more than I
employ the post man or the delivery driver who brings me stuff bought
from the electric interweb.
And the drivers I've seen portrayed on TV didn't come across as
"ordinary and quietly-spoken working-class people" because they weren't
allowed to say much as a union mouthpiece spouted the usual
MarxoBollocks to camera. Indeed it looked like the union mouthpiece was
one of the same ranting twats to be seem outside Ford, BL and other car
factories in the 1970s or outside coal mines in the 1980s.

Not difficult. Striking drivers are fools.
Protesting against high oil prices is like protesting against bad
weather.
They may aswell be shouting:
"We DEMAND that the world population be halved!"
"We DEMAND that the oil companies discover new giant oil fields in the
desert!"
"We DEMAND that Asia stops its damn economic growth!"
"We DEMAND that oil companies stop acting like companies and start
acting like charities!"

They're obviously cleverer than you. They're not protesting against
high oil prices, dumbfuck.

Which is quite funny given what Quentin Willson said when he first got
in an artic for the "Tonight" programme.

Are they as big a fool as some loon posting via a string of proxies in a
silly attempt to look like more than one person?

It's certainly more complex than a normal car , but I'd suggest that it's a
lot simpler than a lot of jobs that pay £34k , and anyway public support
*is* based on public perceptions whether they are accurate or not
