These "Experts", where do they come from ? How do you get to be an
"Expert" in an industry that's been declining for 180 years (since the
railways came along) to the point where it's not industry any more,
it's archeology.

It will take more than a "Mastermind" like you Lugless to get
significant freight back onto the canals now that all the canal-side
handling equipment has rusted away and all the basins have been sold
for twee tourist developments.
Final point ... You weren't proposing to have these canal boats pulled
by "Slave Animals" by any chance, 'cos otherwise you're gonna need
fuel. Biofuel is good for Canal Boats.
