Its still funny :))))))
The rest of the Independent (the editorial) covers many of the factors
behind the real reasons for expansion in rail travel.
If that isn't convincing enough Googling previous threads on here
(particularly the ones covering the fastest expanding rail network in
Europe - IE, still state-owned and operated) should banish any lingering
doubts.
If in the face of all the evidence, including the ongoing policy by the TOCs
of limiting rather than expanding their customer base, and anyone still
allowed sharp object by nursie still believes that the expansion in rail
travel is down to privatisation then I myself will decide to believe that:-
Lord Lucan (and lets say....Elvis) will crash land a UFO directly onto the
head of the Loch Ness monster sometime during the Queen's Christmas
broadcast, featuring Santa - the real one, and the Space Pope from Futurama.
Railway privatisation a success? By comparison the above becomes likely.
