This clearly demonstrates the deadly force of a car compared to that
of a bicycle. Imagine instead the result where a bicycle hits a group
of cars.
"A cyclist was killed and 10 others were injured yesterday when a car
ploughed into a bike race in Mexico.
The terrified sportsmen were hurled high into the air as a 28-year-old
driver, apparently drunk and asleep at the wheel, crashed into the
race near the US-Mexico border.
A photograph taken by a city official shows cyclists and equipment
being thrown skywards like rag dolls by the collision.
Police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez said Juan Campos was
charged with killing Alejandro Alvarez, 37, of Monterrey.
Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes into the 34km race on
Sunday along a highway between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from
Brownsville, Texas."

Car heavier than bicycle shock! I'm not sure what you are trying to say,
Doug. Apart from the fact this is not UK-realetd, so therefore OT, we again
have an example of someone who was, so it seemed, blind drunk, being a
complete moron. You point, therefore, is ...?

checking, Mexico was not part of the UK. I doubt that things have
changed in that respect.
I shall remind the hypocrite and liar Duhng that he refuses to even look
at evidence from outside the UK presented by other newsgroup readers.
Hence to post such a report is an act of hypocricy.

This Mexico would be one of the new towns in the planing stage in the
UK? This would explain why I could not find it on the map.

You should write to your local MP and ask him/her to lobby the
government to ban drink/driving in Mexico, Doug.

Sometimes, I really think that Duhg can't tell the difference between
somebody driving whilst utterly bladdered and the vast, vast majority of
road users.

Drunk driving is a bad thing, the driver should not have been doing so
and will be punished.
The above example doesn't mean that people should cycle while drunk.
Imagine instead the result of a drunk cyclist hitting a young child or
a pregnant woman...
Perhaps we should just ban booze, it would solve a heap of problems.
