SHAC National March & Rally

I know this is off topic but since the motorists who dominate and
infest this transport newsgroup have expressed so much interest in the
past in animal rights campaigns it seemed an appropriate news item to
highlight.

"Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty was set with the sole aim of closing
HLS down. SHAC campaigns for the closure of HLS using evidence
obtained in five undercover investigations at their different
laboratories in the UK and USA. The campaign was set up at the end of
1999 by a group of activists who had successfully closed down Consort
kennels and Hillgrove cat farm. Both campaigns ended with the
businesses closing down and hundreds of animals being safely rehomed
instead of tortured in labs.

HLS workers have been caught on film punching puppies in the face,
simulating sex with animals in their care, cutting open primates while
they are still alive and falsifying experiments to get products on the
market. We can also prove that HLS workers have been caught drunk at
work and dealing drugs at the labs.

I do wish you would cut this meaningless phrase you keep endlessly
repeating, the only one to 'dominate and infest' is you with your
endless off topic cut and pastes and your anti motorist nonsense.

Any proof of these allegations, were there any convictions?

I *think* Gollum is right, for once. Thanks to the violent activities
of his mates, who targeted anyone connected with HLS, all the big
banks etc were intimidated from dealing with HLS. A few years ago the
Bank of England was forced to step in as banker of last resort. I
believe the govt also agreed to act as insurer of last resort. I
don't know whether anything has changed in the interim.

No it doesn't, but it does show that you will support any old load of
violence and that you're a hypocrite who complains about drug
development but will use the products.

Why don't you eschew all drugs, as a demonstration of your commitment to
the cause?

TBH if Duhg's retard mates make a big enough fuss and continue their
violent campaign against anyone involved with HLS the company will move
offshore or another offshore operation will take its place.

The best that the protesters can hope for is to intimidate the company
out of the UK. This won't of course improve animal welfare or reduce the
number of animals used in tests, but it will allow a few blowhards to
strut around and feel important.

It would actually reduce animal welfare, as the legal standards and
requirements in UK animal testing labs are probably (I understand) the
strictest in the world.

Do you support the regime in Zimbabwe, Doug? I assume you do, as the same
tactics of violence and intimidation are being used there as were used
agains HLS and its suppliers/backers. At least we are clear now what your
political tactics are - illegal ones.
