I've refused to go out. I pull 16ft high trailers - not in this weather
boyo.

As a Brit I'd like to thank the Americans for their help in the war
against terror because if they'd not funded the IRA for 30 years, we
wouldn't know how to deal with terrorists.

Aircraft are designed to withstand the most extremes of weather (x 10)
and you would never ever be allowed to design a train that could blow
over in the wind so how come the trucking industry gets away with it?

Yet again the inherent lack of safety within the haulage industry is
exposed for all to see and yet they would have us believe their
success is down to their superior competitiveness rather than just
being a bunch of cowboys.

Tell that to the idiots who are ignoring the 'turn back' signs on the
A66. I guess a proportion cannot read English though ;)

I did wonder, I spent "quite a bit" of time ensuring that the signs on
the A66 worked, in the company of several other good folk who actually
did the dirty, heavy work. So when I saw news of drivers getting stuck
my first thought was "did they not see the signs?"

And the retailers moan about paying 0.002p per tin of baked beans in
haulage costs which is why we've now got 16ft high double deck
trailers.

Excellent, when your truck is blown over and you are horribly injured,
refuse all assistance on the grounds that you knew better.

Oh hang on, no, you'll do what all the other truckwits who ignored the
warnings did, blubber like a baby and scream for help.
