Public Transport and the Festive Season

Author: Alasdair

It's disgusting the way public transport comes to a complete halt over
the festive season of Christmas and the New Year. Here in Nottingham,
there will be no city buses on December 25th and 26th plus January
1st. Trains will not be operating on December 25th and 26th either
and on Jan 1 and 2 in Scotland.

The Government is trying to persuade people to give up their cars and
use public transport but this is not very helpful. It is also
punishing the most disadvantaged in society who cannot have a car for
various reasons.

The funny thing is that air transport seems to be running a fairly
normal service but I don't know about shipping.

I doubt the government wants people to give up cars because they have
made the economy dependent on it and those addicted to the car are
more easy to control and manipulate.
