The IRA was mainly funded by the yanks via the Noraid network. Contributors
were said to include McDonalds.

I used to wind up Septics at one time by proposing that we set up a
charity to distribute much needed assistance to native Americans. You
know the sort of thing, blankets, social payments, assault rifles,
ammunition, RPGs, Semtex. The same sort of care package that America
sent to Norn Iron.

That was a stupid association, a mistake based on McDonalds making
deductions from employees' salaries which were coded as IRA, short for
Internal Revenue Account, IIRC. The rumour seems to have developed a
life of its own.

I was going to call my charity NORAMINDAID.
