Parking meters: fifty years of circling the block and fumbling for loose change.

They should think themselves lucky they are allowed to park at all.
Who needs their nasty, filthy machines cluttering up the place?

"Motorists will not celebrate and even the staff of Westminster
council's formidable parking department have not planned any official
ceremony to mark the day. It will be left to historians and the
employees of a few “parking management solutions” companies to find a
suitable act of revelry with which to solemnise the occasion.

For today is the 50th anniversary of the parking meter. Mayfair
residents awoke half a century ago to find their pavements had been
planted with 600 of them, dials poised to measure the minute with
unforgiving accuracy..."

You do, cars transport those who support the infrastructure you need
to exist and those who service your social handouts, don't be so
ungrateful.
They pay through the nose for the road so why shouldn't they use it.

I got a parking ticket the other day for parking where I shouldn't have.
It was only £35, the benefit of the dodgy parking was greater than the
cost of the ticket so I didn't give a shit...

I've used loads of them. It's more fun than using a tree.

As I live in a large city with plenty of public transport and share
resources with millions of others we don't need motorists and they
don't pay for public roads, we all do out of general taxation. Indeed,
selfish motorists are nothing but a public nuisance, causing
congestion and pollution and creating a lethal hazard for other road
users.

What a typically selfish way of looking at the situation. Just like the
average motorist.
