A COVENTRY bus driver has been suspended after passengers complained
that he got out of his cab, squatted, and went to the toilet on a patch
of grass.

The driver faces a disciplinary hearing and could lose his job.

He was reported by a 50-year-old housewife who was on the bus near Tesco
at the Arena Park complex on Wednesday afternoon.

She had been shopping and caught the bus home.

There was just one other passenger, a young man.

The woman said the bus set off, but then suddenly stopped.

She said: "The driver changed the sign and then he got off the bus and
climbed over a fence where there's a little area of greenery.

"Then he just took his trousers down and went to the toilet.

"I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I looked away but the man behind
me started heaving so I looked back and I started heaving as well.

"Then he pulled up his trousers as if what he had done was normal."

The woman said she told the driver he should have used the toilets in
Tesco and she claimed he then became abusive towards her.

"I was shocked, I've never seen anything like that before.

Quite right too. If he wants to do that sort of thing, he should have become
a truck driver ;-)

The "Queen's Award for aesthetic improvements to Coventry" might be the most
appropriate bouquet to be awarded here.

I don't think it was mentioned. but people from most, if not all, ethnic
backgrounds sometimes need to have a poo, so ethnicity probably isn't too
relevant, unless you are interested in that sort of thing.
