You tell me - did population growth occur historically because of
industrialisation, or did people have a brilliant idea of building
factories because they noticed there were a lot of people sitting around
twiddling their thumbs and thought it was about time they were given
something to do?
Or you can turn the question on its head - in our post-industrial
society, if you ignore the effects of migration, would our population be
rising or falling?
