So basically they impeded his lawful protest. He became aggrieved at
this, showed a little aggression by nudging forwards, gave up, reversed
out to go another way and accidentally hit a cyclist who was illegally
riding on the pavement. The crowd then saw this as an excuse to
brutalise the car driver, causing criminal damage to his property and
bodily harm to the driver.
