But the strong temptation to drink and drive is there. You can't tell
me that someone who reels out of the pub drunk is going think
carefully about leaving the car there and walking home instead.

The Evil Car continues to be allowed to exist in massive quantities,
and their drivers are allowed to kill with relative impunity, because
of economics and short-sighted policies. If you engineer work/
lifestyles around cars they will be become indispensable and that was
the mistake made in the first place.
