They should think themselves lucky they don't get pepper sprayed or
hit with batons for breaking the law. Simple solution, if you don't
want to be fined don't speed.

"Revenue from speeding tickets has almost quadrupled to £200 a minute
since Labour came to power.

The increase has coincided with a massive expansion in the number of
speed cameras

Home Office figures reveal that 1.8million tickets are being issued
each year, or 4,850 a day. In 1997, only 713,000 fixed penalty notices
were handed to drivers.

This is an increase of 150 per cent in only a decade, and it has been
compounded by an increase in the value of fines - from £40 to £ 60 -
in 2000.

As a result, the total amount of cash raised has rocketed from
£28.5million a decade ago to £106.4million in 2006, the period covered
by the latest figures..."

Does that also apply to people who break the law in ways that you approve
of?

Using that logic Doug it implies you think protesters should be pepper
sprayed and hit by batons...

Or is this the famous Doug double standards?

Hint - motorists don't generally have an avowed ambition to close down
the road network. If they did the pepper spray and batons might come out
then. This perhaps is the difference.
